HTC One X+ vs Samsung Galaxy Note 2: Jelly Bean Fight!

By  |

HTC announced the update to the One X in the form of the One X+ this week and this device is set to go head to head with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which is to be released by Samsung this month as well. Both of these handsets have the latest Android OS, Jelly Bean, so which will come out on top?

Jelly Bean wars: HTC One X+ vs Samsung Galaxy Note 2

The HTC One X+ comes with the 1.7GHz Tegra 2 chip and a 2100mAh battery, it also has 64GB of storage and it runs Jelly Bean with Sense 4+. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 follows on from the popular Note and has a larger display, 4G, Jelly Bean, NFC and upgraded S Pen.

The HTC One X+ comes with a display of 4.7 inches S-LCD2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has the 5.5 inch display of Super AMOLED. The Note 2 has the size advantage and the One X+ is better for viewing outside as its IPS LCD display allows for higher brightness levels. Winner: Draw

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with a 1.6GHz quad core processor and 2GB of RAM. The One X+ is powered by a quad core 1.7GHz processor and it has 1GB of RAM. While it is difficult to say which is more powerful, the extra 1GB of RAM will certainly come in handy given the quad-core devices multi-tasking capabilities. Winner: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (slightly)

The HTC One X+ is available in 32GB and 64GB options, while the Samsung Note 2 has similar configurations but also comes with SD card support up to 64GB. Winner: Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Both of the devices have a camera of 8 megapixels, but the Note 2 also has a camera of 1.9 megapixels on the front, compared to the 1.6 megapixels of the One X+. Winner: Draw.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a battery of 3,100mAh and the HTC One X+ a battery of 2100mAh. The Galaxy Note 2 specs show a longer talktime on a single charge as well. Winner: Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Design: While both devices look great, the HTC One X+ certainly has the advantage in the looks department. However this comes down to a matter of personal preference. The HTC One X+ is available in black while the Galaxy Note 2 has two color options. Winner: HTC One X+

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 should be in stores this month just like the HTC One X+. Totaling up the scores, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is ahead. So we may once again see it take the lead in sales just like how the Samsung Galaxy S3 did against the original HTC One X.
