There have been some stunning handsets on the Android platform this year thanks to Samsung, including the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2. There are still a couple of months left in this year and it seems that Samsung will be closing the year off with a bang as they are rumoured to be releasing the S3 Mini and now a new Nexus 2 with an 8 megapixel camera.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 specs leaked

The leaked specs of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 came from AllAboutSamsung, who also published a photo of the device. The camera on the front will be 1.9 megapixel HD, which would put it up there with the Note 2 and the Galaxy S3. The new Nexus is thought to have the same Super AMOLED display of 4.65 inches but under the hood there will be a 1.5GHz dual core processor. Internal storage should be in the region of 16GB and there should be SD card support for external storage.

There has been a posting of a listing of the device at CarPhone Warehouse, which showed the Nexus 2 name. The listing also highlighted a 32GB version of the Google Nexus 7 tablet, which is on its way to us. The Samsung Nexus 2 should be in stores in time for the holiday shopping period.

On a side note, rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 may not be alone. Google will reportedly be having multiple Nexus devices this year, with rumors of an LG Optimus Nexus ans Motorola DROID Nexus popping up already. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
