Samsung Galaxy S2 Next In Line For Jelly Bean Update

By  |

Samsung have always been a bit tardy when it comes to updates, but it looks like they want to turn over a new leaf. Jelly Bean is rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S3 in – ahem – record time for many regions, and the S2 now looks to be next on the list.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update right after S3

So, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is soon to go Jelly Bean, alongside the first Note, in the next few months. Some of the first confirmations of the update came from Samsung Europe, which was no surprise.

GadgetInsiders reports that Denmark confirmed on Facebook that the update will get to the Samsung Galaxy in November, that’s this month. Samsung Sweden has said that the update will arrive sometime in Q4, which isn’t quite as precise as its neighbours but it does cover November so there is no conflicts here. These European confirmations have been followed by statements from Canadian carriers that have included a similar launch window:

Telus has unveiled its upgrade schedule, explaining that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will get Jelly Bean first, followed by the Galaxy S2 and then the Note. The Note is expected to get Jelly Bean in late December, so that’s only a few weeks behind the S3 in North America, and nicely envelops the S3 this month!
