Ram 1500 & Siblings Asked To Return [Recall]

By  |

Fit Chrysler will be issuing a recall for their Ram pickup trucks after it was discovered that the vehicle’s tailgate might have some issue.

According to the reports, the trucks that are fitted with the power locking tailgate might malfunction and open unexpectedly. The issue will affect the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 from 2015 to 2017 that was equipped with a 5-foot-7 and 6-foot-4 cargo bed. The 8-foot bed models will not be affected as those had a manual locking tailgate instead.

Fiat Chrysler added that they are not aware of any injuries or accidents related to the issue at the moment. Those affected will be notified when the service becomes available which should be around mid of September. The repair will, of course, be free of charge.

A total of 1.14million Ram trucks will be affected in the US while another 260k from Canada and 45k from Mexico will be affected by the recall as well.
