Pure Android Failed, Didn’t Reach Samsung Galaxy S6

There are many people who really don’t care one way or another whether they have the latest version of Android installed and some don’t know which version is on their device. A small portion do keep checking to find out if they can download and install the latest version and some of these are owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Samsung Galaxy S6 owners had to wait for what seemed to be forever for Android Lollipop to arrive. They could only watch as owners of the LG G4 bragged the update off.

In the past Samsung handsets were offered with pure Android by way of the Google Play Editions but this stopped as pure Android wasn’t all that popular and the GPE handsets didn’t sell as well as they perhaps should have. Now Samsung offer the Good Lock app. Some owners have been frustrated though as updates don’t come as fast as they do on pure Android.

Samsung said that not that many people bought the GPE handsets so they weren’t making a profit on them. The Google Play Editions stopped about two years ago. A downside to the devices was lack of support and customers of Sony found this out the hard way.
