Forget Play Store, “Make Your Own” LG Nexus 4

If you are fed up with not being able to get the LG Nexus 4 from the Google Play Store why not make your own?

Turn an LG Optimus G into an LG Nexus 4

The LG Nexus 4 has been hard to get hold of since the device was released late in 2012. However the LG Optimus G, which the handset was based on, is easy to get.

People will say that the reason for this is due to the Nexus name and the fact that that the LG Nexus 4 runs on pure Android. This of course is one distinctive feature and it is the main reason why people choose the LG Nexus 4 over the LG Optimus G.

If you are fed up waiting for the LG Nexus 4 to come into stock you might want to undertake a mod by XDA Developers, which will turn an LG Optimus G into an LG Nexus 4 on the inside.

The mod will change the software on the LG Optimus G with that that is on the LG Nexus 4. However there is a catch to this and that is that you will have to root the device and flash it with the software. It even overwrites the bootloader, disables LTE and limits the amount of storage on the LG Optimus G. XDA Developers said that the mod remaps all of the partitions to the Nexus 4, overwriting AT&T firmware with that of the LG Nexus 4, including partitions. When you have finished it, your LG Optimus G will behave just like an LG Nexus 4.
