Oculus Rift Headset Now Shipping, At Doorsteps 28th March

The first batch of the Oculus Rift is ready and Oculus is ready to start delivering their new consumers version of Oculus Rift to their customers. Those lucky few that manage to book the March batch before it ran out will most likely be receiving their Oculus Rift by the 28th of March.

The new Oculus Rift retails at $599 but that is the Rift set alone. You will probably need to cough up more to upgrades your PC so that it is powerful enough to support the Oculus Rift.

It was announced to in order to run the Oculus Rift, users will need a PC that runs on the Intel Core I5 4590 or higher and comes with a Nvidia GTX 970 or AMD R9 290 or graphics card along that line. The PC will also need to have 8GB of RAM.

Customers will also have to free up some ports as the Rift will need 1 USB 2 port and 3 USB 3.0 ports as well as one HDMI 1.3 output.
