NHTSA Confirms Takata Airbag Caused Another Death

NHTSA was looking into a claim that the Takata airbags has claimed another life and now that the investigation is done, they finally can confirm that the faulty airbag was the reason behind the tragic death.

According to the report, the driver of the 2004 Honda Civic was killed when the Takata airbag ruptured in the crash. The accident happened in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They also added that the vehicle was one of the vehicles that were recalled back but was never received by any dealer.

The faulty Takata airbags have already claimed the life of at 18 people now and has caused additional injuries to about 180 people worldwide. Honda has also issued a stop-sale for affected airbags and has already removed more than 100,000 inflators from salvage yards as Honda and Takata continue to clean up the mess that these faulty inflators made.
