Next Generation Honda Civic Type R May Be Full EV

By  |

Only the very fastest of performance cars from Honda are treated to the Type R nameplate, but soon we may see the next generation Honda Civic Type R and it may be full EV.

Ted Claus of Honda teased about the fact that there will be three variations of the NSX heading our way in the near future and one of these is going to have the name of the NSX Type R and it would have an EV powertrain.

This seems to suggest that the Type R nameplate is going to be all about super EV vehicles in the future. If this does happen to be the case then the Honda Civic Type R will come our way and it will rely on the electric powertrain.

At the moment there hasn’t been any confirmation about this so you are going to have to take it with a pinch of salt as Honda nor Acura have said anything about the Type R nameplate being for EV performance vehicles.

That’s kind of like saying the CLA 45 AMG needs to have a V12, because the C65 AMG has a V12. Or that the Juke Nismo should have 600HP because the GT-R Nismo does.
