Next-Gen Opel Corsa: Don’t Get Too Excited

By  |

It was announced that Opel will be working on a next-gen Opel Corsa and since Opel is no longer with GM now, the fans are expecting a huge update but don’t get too excited yet.

While it is true that it will not be getting the GM platform anymore, it has just been announced that the Opel Corsa will be coming in with the CMP from PSA. That is the same platform that the Peugeot 208 is using right now.

That means that Opel Corsa could end up looking like the 208 with a few minor upgrades here and there. It is believed that the Opel Corsa could be fitted with a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine although no output numbers have been released yet.

Soon after the Corsa arrives, we should be seeing the eCorsa which is the all-electric version of the Corsa. As for the three-door model, PSA has decided to kill it off and focus more on the five-door model.
