The next-gen Nissan Qashqai will be coming in with two hybrid options and more updates. Here is what we know now.
The Qashqai will be riding on the new CMF platform by Renault-Nissan alliance which will support electrification. One of the hybrid powertrain options will be the Nissan ePower system which will more of a conventional hybrid. Then there is a plug-in hybrid from Mitsubishi which will use a petrol engine as a generator to charge the battery for the motor.
It was added that while the Qashqai will be getting a plug-in hybrid, they are not really pursuing PHEV that aggressively but are just trying them out.
Other than the new engine options, the Qashqai will also be getting the new ProPilot autonomous driving system and more connectivity features as part of the upgrade. The exterior design will most likely get some upgrades as well.
