The Nissan Qashqai or Nissan Rogue Sport as most of us know it by will be arriving next year. The updated version will come in with an all-new design and will be riding on a new CMF architecture that will allow it to be offered with a two-hybrid system for a compact crossover.
The two-hybrid system that we could be seeing with the Qashqai will be the ePower series hybrid powertrain from Nissan which used an on-board generator to power a battery-electric propulsion system and a plug-in hybrid powertrain from Mitsubishi, the same powertrain that is used on the Outlander PHEV.
They have yet to decide where the system will be offered as the ePower system is known to have a low-speed limit which might not be the best option for the Europe market. As exciting as this is, we still do not know what Nissan has planned for the Rogue Sport as the model is currently one update cycle behind the Qashqai.
