Next-Gen Ford Ranger Will Have Something In Common With Amarok?

By  |

In an interview, Volkswagen did hint that they might work with another automaker to lower the cost of building their mid-size pickup truck. It was later suggested that they could be working with Ford and while Volkswagen and Ford have not announced anything yet, new reports are suggesting that the rumour is true.

According to GoAuto, Volkswagen is finding ways to bring down the cost of their Volkswagen Amarok so that they can compete with their rivals and the option now would be to share parts with Ford. If that is true, the Ford Ranger could be riding on the Volkswagen Amarok platform when it arrives.

Volkswagen also added that if there is a joint venture, they would do their best to separate the two models so that it does not feel like a clone. At this point, nothing has been confirmed yet but what do you think of this new rumour?
