New Subaru Crosstrek Isn’t Going Crossover, Its Going To Be Tall SUV

Subaru has told us that some departments within the company are going to be changed due to electrification of vehicles. This means that there is going to be management changes along with organizational ones. We are expecting the first new model in the electric range to be the Subaru Crosstrek plug-in hybrid.

What used to be known as the HEV Design Department of Subaru is now the Electrified Power Unit Design Dept. It seems that changes were needed to be in-line with the new global platform heading our way which is on the 2017 Subaru Impreza sedan which is coming with five doors.

The global platform means that departments have to be given new names and they are able to design the concept that is going to be seen on all vehicles heading our way in the future, which are going to be electric.

We are expecting a plug-in hybrid to come to North America and Subaru are working on complying with zero emissions for vehicle coming into effect in 2018.

It is thought that the new plug-in is going to be the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and it should be here in 2018.
