New 2024 Defender Needs To Evolve?

We already know that Jaguar Land Rover will be working on a few new models and now they have confirmed that they will be launching three new nameplates with one of them being the Defender by 2024.

This news surface after Auto News Europe discovered the investor presentation showing that two models will be unveiled between 2020 and 2021 and that one of the three that Jaguar Land Rover will be releasing is the Defender. There were also suggestions that the other model could be the J-Pace and the Range Rover Allroad.

The presentation also showed off the Modular Longitudinal Architecture and the Premium Transverse Architecture. The MLA platform will make its debut in 2020 and should be the one the Defender will be riding on. As exciting as this sound, some fans are also worried that the Defender will be somewhat the same as they are hoping that the would actually evolved into something that is more suitable for the current market.

According to the images, the new PTA platform will allow the vehicle to be fitted with a mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain with a battery pack underneath the floor.
