Ouch! Motorola Drops 3 Top Androids From ICS Upgrade List

By  |

There is bad news today for owners of three Motorola Android models. Motorola have updated their upgrade that shows which handsets will get an update to Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean.

No Ice Cream Sandwich for Motorola ATRIX 4G, Photon 4G & Electrify

Devices that should have gotten the Ice Cream Sandwich update in Q3 were delayed and now Motorola have said that the Atrix 4G, Photon 4G and the Electrify, will never get updated and owners will be stuck with Gingerbread.

For owners of these handsets this news is devastating. All we can hope is that Motorola are just going through a tough transitional phase and that they will take it in and learn from it. However if you own a Motorola ATRIX 4G, Photon 4S or Electrify then this is of no comfort to you. It looks like if you want to update these devices, the only way to do it will be unofficially.

Coincidentally Motorola did promise earlier this year about giving owners $100 credit if they failed to update the devices. So if you’re now considering upgrading to a new Android, don’t forget.
