On Christmas morning to the surprise of many Motorola DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX owners, Verizon had unleashed the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update upon them.

However the excitement was shortlived as it seemed to have been halted abruptly only hours on. News came about that Verizon had possibly prematurely released the Jelly Bean update to owners of the Motorola DROID RAZR and had put things to a stop before it went too far. So why the pause?

According to those who received the Jelly Bean update, there are now issues with connectivity, mobile hotspot and even random Verizon apps crashing. Now the folks over at Droid-Life report that a few of their readers have informed them that Verizon is readily swapping those Motorola DROID RAZR units which have been “allergic” to the Jelly Bean update. So if you Motorola DROID RAZR has been acting up since jumping to Android 4.1, swing by our local Verizon corporate store for a possible exchange.

I personally haven’t been so lucky (or unlucky) to receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update on my Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX so can’t say just how bad the problems are that it warrants a swap. If you have, then please do tell us.
