Mid-Engine Corvette Is Now Under Development Thanks To Chevy Camaro

GM is in the midst of developing a new mid-engine for the Corvette. The engine is said to be going to change the way that people see the Chevrolet Corvette but we don’t have anything official about the development of the vehicle.

However one analyst pointed out that perhaps GM were building the new engine because of the Chevrolet Camaro. He said that GM could have been so shaken by the fact that Ford is able to produce a supercar with the GT name that GM chose to come up with some competition.

He went on to say that perhaps GM might have noticed that following the 6th gen Chevrolet Camaro the vehicle had the potential to offer up the same amount of power as the Corvette. The company may have decided to take the Corvette to a totally new platform to ensure that the Chevrolet Camaro cannot disturb it.

The mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette is said to come in at around $200,000 and we are expecting it to go up against vehicle such as the Ford GT, Acura NSX, Audi R8, Nissan GT-R and the BMW i8.
