Microsoft Lumia 950 vs Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6S: Winner Is…

By  |

The Microsoft Lumia 950 entered into the market to take on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6S, but which is the winner?

Microsoft hasn’t had much luck in coming out ahead of the leaders Apple and Samsung in the past, but has the Microsoft Lumia 950 been able to change their luck?

The Microsoft Lumia 950 offers up a huge display of 5.2 inches in QHD and 2560 x 1440 resolution. The Samsung Galaxy S6 also offers a resolution the same but it comes in smaller at 5.1 inches. The iPhone 6S on the other hand has the smallest display at 4.7 inches and offering 1334 x 750 pixels. It runs on iOS 9 and has 3D Touch technology. The winner in this category has to be the Microsoft Lumia 950.

The Microsoft Lumia offers up the biggest battery in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6S. The iPhone 6S has the 1715mAh battery, which was a decrease over the previous version. The winner here is the Microsoft Lumia 950.

The Microsoft Lumia has the reversible USB Type C-Connector. The Samsung Galaxy S6 has the micro USB and the iPhone 6S offers the Apple lightning connector. At the moment only a few devices make use of the USB Type-C connector. There is no clear winner here for the connector.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 can be connected to the Microsoft Display Dock and it may be used as a Windows 10 desktop computer. The iPhone 6S and the Samsung Galaxy S6 doesn’t have either. So the winner here is the Microsoft Lumia 950.

For storage the Microsoft Lumia 950 has 32GB of storage and it may be expanded with SD card. The Samsung Galaxy S6 comes with 32GB but you cannot boost its memory. The iPhone 6S starts at 16GB and you cannot expand it. The winner here is the Microsoft Lumia 950.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 wins for the most megapixels on the camera and it offers OIS and great photos in low light. It comes in above the 16MP of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the 12MP of the iPhone 6S. The camera on all of the phones is the 5MP at the front.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 has a price tag of $549 and this means that it is less than the Apple iPhone 6S by $100. The Samsung Galaxy S6 comes in the middle with the price tag of $579.99 for the 32GB. The winner once again is the Microsoft Lumia 950.

As you might have guessed by now the winner here is the Microsoft Lumia 950. But perhaps you would rather go for the Samsung Galaxy S6 or the iPhone S6?

Waiting on that premium device from Microsoft. The Lumia is a good phone but it doesn’t scream quality like the surface does.

Maybe now people will start to realize that Windows Phone IS the better one! And, almost as importantly, businesses will realize it. There is a chicken/egg scenario here, and I will continue using Windows Phone, but it would be nice if some of these commercial apps were available for Windows Phone users as well!
