Daimler might have to recall some of their Mercedes-Benz after it was reported that there might be some issue with the software of the diesel engines from Renault.
According to Der Spiegel, the small engines which are used in the Mercedes A-Class and B-class model are being investigated for suspicious software. Renault has since responded by denying that their engines are rigg and that the software was programmed by Mercedes-Benz engineers.
We still do not know which models they are looking at right now but Daimler was fined about $1billion for using illegal diesel software before. The last raid in the Office leads to KBA uncovering about 280,000 C-Class and E-Class models fitted with the illegal software.
We will have to wait and see where this investigation will go. Daimler is also currently under investigation by the US Department of Justice
