Redesigned LG Nexus 4 Discards Sexy Back? [PICS]

By  |

We’ve always praised the top-end looks of the LG Nexus 4. However while it does look the business, there has been strong criticism since its launch of issues with the crystal glass backing.

Did the LG Nexus 4 case get swapped with a more durable glass?

Starting off from top Android blogs who could have sworn that the LG Nexus 4 cracked after being put on a cold marble surface because of the temperature difference, we’ve seen many LG Nexus 4 reports of users complaining that the glass back was prone to shattering even if dropped from small heights.

We expected LG to possibly do something about this with the next batch of Nexus 4 stock given that they were reportedly out of inventory already. Well it is now possibly that this has happened but with a drawback.

We have recently received emails from many of our regular readers that the LG Nexus 4 looks slightly different than the model at launch. In fact, comparing it to our review model, you can see a clear difference with the rear glass. The LG Nexus 4 had this slight glitter when you held it up to the light at certain angles. This appears to be gone and replaced with a matte finish. Some even say that it looks thicker than the review model but we are unable to confirm either.

If you have received your LG Nexus 4 in the past couple of days, do tell us if something looks different about it. We’ve contacted LG but have yet to receive a response.
