LG Nexus 4: Available On Google Play Store 1 Week After You Stop Caring

By  |

We could have sworn that the most difficult handset to get your hands on during the holidays would be the iPhone 5. Instead you can walk into any Apple Store and almost be guaranteed to walk out with one. Instead, what you aren’t walking away with this holiday is the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean running LG Nexus 4.

LG Nexus 4 availability issues

Ever since its launch over a month ago, the LG Nexus 4 has been hard to come by. From its release date until today, we have continued to see its shipping times slip. In fact, if you place an order for one now (if you can), you will see it is only shipping sometime in February 2013!

Now in the world of Android phones and tablets, immediately availability plays a big role. While I don’t mind waiting a few weeks or months for an iPhone 5 to arrive given that I know the next best thing is around a year away (iPhone 6), the same isn’t true for Android devices.

From now until February 2013, you can bet there will be announcements of other Android smartphones that will be as good (if not better) than the LG Nexus 4. So while you may be waiting for it right now, twiddling your thumbs, there is a good chance something else will catch your eyes in the next month or so.

I’ve downloaded a handy little Android app off the Google Play Store called the Nexus 4 Stock Alert which will send me a notification the moment new Nexus 4 stock arrives in my local Google Play Store (US, UK, Germany & Australia). However judging by the rumors of possible upcoming new smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4, Motorola Nexus X and HTC M7, I won’t be surprised if the LG Nexus 4 hits the Google Play Store a week after I stop caring.
