LG G4 Being Ditched By Android 7.0 Nougat

By  |

There has been some bad news for owners of the LG G4 as the handset isn’t going to get updated to Android 7.0 Nougat and this has now been made official. A spokesperson for the phone maker said that the G4 is going to remain on Marshmallow.

Owners of the LG G4 were hoping that they would be given the update to Android Nougat after the LG G5 but it now seems that this isn’t going to be the case. A member of the XDA Developers asked a Korean LG rep when the update to Android Nougat was coming and they were told that it isn’t.

The Korean version of the LG G4 comes with the model number F500L but it is thought that international versions of the device will not be treated any differently. Of course there are custom ROMs that will take the device to Nougat, if you don’t mind rooting your handset.

Are you the owner of the LG G4 and were you hoping that the handset would get an official version of Android Nougat?
