LG G2 Owners Going To Get Marshmallow 6.0 Update

By  |

Owners of the LG G3 and the LG G4 have been waiting to hear about when they would be getting the Marshmallow update. Owners of the LG G2 are also looking for signs they are getting updated to Marshmallow 6.0.

LG didn’t say just how far back they would be taking the update and they haven’t given any indication that they would be updating the LG G2. However there has been a good sign as we have seen it running in benchmarks.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow was seen on the LG G2 running on a custom ROM and this is a sign that custom ROMs may be heading to the handset.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update seen on the LG G2 and in the single core it scored good, while in multi-core it came out with a score of 2728. So it is looking as though even if LG isn’t going to offer an official update for the handset, developers are likely to offer up a custom version.

I am typing this on a G2 running CM 13, which is Marshmallow. Unfortunately, seeing a benchmark of a G2 running Marshmallow means nothing as that could have been someone running a custom ROM. LG is not so great at doing software updates anyways so don’t expect anything. I do recommend CM 13 though, it runs quite smoothly on the G2.
