LG G2 Gets Sweeter Thanks To Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

By  |

Owners of the LG G2 are in for a treat it seems. Owners of the LG G4 and LG G3 have been waiting to hear about the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow but now it is looking as though owners of the older handset may get the update too.

No one likes to be left holding a device that is out of date and this applies to the owners of the LG G2. At the moment nothing official has been said from LG but we have seen the device running Marshmallow in benchmark tests.

The benchmark tests for the LG G2 told us that the Marshmallow update runs fair and this may mean that it will be getting an official rollout. The device we saw was running a custom version of the ROM.

So it is looking as though the LG G2 will get updated to Marshmallow even if LG doesn’t offer it as developers will.

Just because it ran a benchmark running 6.0 doesn’t mean LG is releasing it. I can install Cyanogenmod or any number of Marshmallow ROMs on mine and it will show up the same way. I can’t see LG officially releasing it for the G2.
