Kia Sedona Sliding Doors Out Of Control, Recall Issued

By  |

The Kia Sedona will have to head back as NHTSA reports that there is an issue with the sliding doors that might cause injuries to the driver or passenger.

According to the report, the software that operates the sliding door has an error that could affect the function of the doors. The power sliding door should stop and reverse if it senses an obstruction but the error means that the doors might not reverse for certain obstructions.

According to Kia, about 106,428 units of Kia Sedona made from the 21st of July 2014 to 6th of December 2017 will be affected by the recall but since the vehicles were not produced in VIN order, customers will need to contact Kia to get more information.

It was added that a few injuries caused by the issues have been reported. Owners will be notified starting from the 18th of June.
