Kia Ceed, Sportage, Sorento To Get Electric Upgrade?

With CO2 emission regulations now tighter than ever, automakers are trying to come out with ways to make their lineup more fuel efficient and more Kia, the solution will be more plug-in hybrid models in their lineup.

According to Autocar, Kia is working on launching a plug-in hybrid version of their Kia Ceed next year. The vehicle will be powered by the Niro PHEV powertrain which consists of a 1.6-liter petrol engine that will be offering 139hp and an electric motor.

Kia added that the Ceed Sportswagon will be the first to get the plug-in hybrid before the other Ceed body styles. After that, Kia will focus on the other models like the Kia Sportage and the Kia Sorento.

Before all of that, we can also look forward to seeing the new Kia Soul EV model which they will be showing off at the LA Auto Show happening next month.
