Jeep Renegade: Stolen Key As Bad As Stolen Car

By  |

If you were to have your Jeep Renegade key stolen, you might as well start looking for a new car or at least that is what the dealer told one Jeep Renegade owner after he reported that his key was stolen.

According to the owner of the 2015 Jeep Renegade, his house was broken into and one of the thing that the thief stole was the key to his Jeep Renegade. He later took the backup key and drove to the dealership in hopes that they can reset the keys for the Renegade.

However, according to the owner, he was told that they can’t reset the keys and suggested that he get a new car. According to another Reddit user, erasing the programmed keys will put the Renegade into a ‘dead’ list and once that happens, they won’t be able to reprogramme the car and the owner will have to buy a new key to resolve the issue.

Does it mean that it is over for you and your Jeep Renegade the moment you lose your key? You can read the full post here and tell us what you think of it.
