Giving iPhone 6 The Finger

As we move further into 2013, rumors of what the iPhone 6, the successor to the iPhone 5, may bring are continuing to grow.

iPhone 6 and fingerprint technology rumors

The latest comes by way of a fingerprint sensor that actually is more practical than it sounds. Sure we’ve seen this feature on laptops but its application isn’t neccessary given that most folks rely on the keyboard to type in their password. In the case of the iPhone 6 which you would be turning on and off more frequently, it could come in handy.

The iPhone 6 fingerprint scanner rumors come by way of KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who actually has a solid track record when it comes to Apple rumors. He states that the iPhone 6 (or iPhone 5S as some call it) will utilize this technology right below the home button to do away with the need for a number unlock or password screen.

This rumor has more backing to it as Apple did purchase AuthenTec last year, which is known for developing the Smart Sensor technology used for fingerprint scanning. Excited by this rumor?

It would be awesome if it could be coupled to a tazer which sends a bolt of electricity to shock an unauthorized person who tries to unlock your iPhone. Too much?
