iPhone 5 overtakes Samsung Galaxy S3 in usage already (Chitika)

Chitika released the results of their study which they undertook on the amount of web traffic between the two devices. Millions of mobile ad impressions were counted on the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3. 56% of these came from the iPhone 5 and the S3 took 44%.

The iPhone 5 was released 18 days ago, but it has overtaken the S3 fast. This is thought to be thanks to the 4G browsing speeds which have encouraged owners of the phone to browse the web more through their devices given that iPhone users had only 3G speeds before this.

There has been a battle going on between Samsung and Apple over their handsets, with Apple saying that the iPhone 5 is the best device on the market. It has a 4 inch retina display and 8 megapixel camera and superb design. Samsung have the opposite to say and argue that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the best thanks to its 4.8 inch display and NFC support. Samsung put out an ad campaign showing how the S3 was better than the iPhone 5, listing 15 reasons why. They even mocked fans waiting in line to buy the iPhone 5 in  TV commercial that followed.

Chitika said that their study was taken between 3rd October and 9th October, but they didn’t say how the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 matched up against other handsets.
