Apple have been delivered a blow as news was revealed that the Motorola DROID RAZR Maxx has outsold the iPhone 4S during the last quarter, at least on Verizon, reports CPost.

iPhone 5 vs Motorola DROID RAZR HD

This piece of news shows that the iPhone is invincible after all but many are saying that the RAZR Maxx has caught a lucky break with timing, that’s all as Apple are getting ready to launch the next generation iPhone 5 and customers want to buy it. While this may be so there is no getting away from the fact that the Maxx did beat the iPhone already.

The RAZR Maxx is similar to the original Droid RAZR  which launched alongside the iPhone 4S in October but with the exception of having a more powerful battery. Therefore it has to be said that the original RAZR did lay down all the groundwork to allow the victory over the iPhone. The original model of the handset ranked very high with CNET who had it down as one of the highest ranked phones to be launched in 2011 and this included the iPhone 4S and the Galaxy S2, which is yet another victory in favor of the Motorola Droid. The Galaxy S2 is popular globally but in the US it is the RAZR MAXX that is currently creating all the buzz.

While there is no getting away from the fact however that today the trendy device to have has moved from the Blackberry of RIM onto the iPhone, but many are saying that it will be inevitable that an Android handset will be the next must have handset and the RAZR seems to be showing positive hope.

There will be a huge battle between the iPhone 5 and the long rumored DROID RAZR HD no doubt, what Motorola need to do is make a handset that would appeal to not only the tech heads out there but also teenage girls and they would be on to a sure winner. Motorola already pushed the DROID RAZR as the world’s thinnest smartphone and then went on with the MAXX to beat every other smartphone on the market in terms of battery life. Now rumors suggest that the RAZR HD will boast on-screen keys so as to boast a larger screen but minimize overall real estate. It will also have a HD display and an S4 dual-core processor like the US versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and AT&T HTC One X. To top it off, it may even try to challenge the iPhone 5 and its camera with a 13-megapixel shooter (the iPhone 5 is rumored to come with a 12MP camera).

And even if the Motorola DROID RAZR HD can’t match the iPhone 5 in terms of hype when they launch, it took the RAZR MAXX just a few months to beat the iPhone 4S once the hype died down and both smartphones were readily available on the market. We may see a similar situation with the case of the RAZR HD and iPhone 5.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, iPhone and Android games keep Berke busy at work all day. Honestly though we’re not sure why we’re paying him as it should be the other way around.
