iPhone 5 To Drop Below $199 Starting Today

Starting from tonight some US carriers will be offering discounted iPhone 5 units as the iPhone goes out to over 22 different countries.

Cheaper iPhone 5 coming to regional wireless carriers, global release kicks off today too

9to5Mac reports that nTelos Wireless who operates out of Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky, and North Carolina, are offering the iPhone 5 for only $149 with a two-year plan. The blog adds that more regional carriers are expected to hop on to this lower price point and offer the iPhone 5 sometime in the next few weeks.

Even though there are delays for customers who have pre-ordered their iPhone 5 and there are shortages in retail stores, Apple will roll out the new iPhone to more than 22 countries starting from midnight. The rollout will occur in:

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
