HTC Superphone Kicks iPhone 5 & Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Chatter To The Curb

HTC could be releasing a handset with a display of 5 inches and 1794×1080 resolution with a Snapdragon S4 processor, suggest a discovery made by DroidLife over in a benchmark test. The device could be on Verizon in September or October putting it in direct competition with the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and even the iPhone 5.

The benchmark scores showed that this was a superphone and no other came close to it. If it does come with the Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcomm it will also have a new Adreno 320 GPU packed inside and would be way ahead of any handset currently on the market. The codename for the phone is DLX and it should have support for Verizon’s LTE network.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is sure to be announced very soon, but will it take the crown? Samsung could have something special up their sleeves, for instance, a 1080p screen and a faster quad core processor than what is out at the moment. But would it be able to compete with the device from HTC? Then there of course is the king of smartphones, the iPhone 5, which is expected to launch around the same period.
