iPhone 5: Reserve One With Apple Tonight Before Pickup

By  |

You can now get your hands on an iPhone 5 at any time of the day or night, thanks to Personal Pickup, which is the new reservation system of Apple’s.

Apple lets you reserve your iPhone 5 before pickup

Those wanting an iPhone 5 can now reserve one between 10pm and 4am. During this time you can reserve and pay for the device via the Apple website or using their app, and you can check your upgrade status too. Then all you have to do is turn up at your local Apple store the following day and pick up your new handset when it is ready.

Apple says that if you don’t use the system then you should be aware that there are limited amounts of the iPhone 5 units in stores and these are handed out on the first come first served basis. This means that using the service is a way of avoiding the long lines.

Apple launched the service last night and it is now up and running. The shipping time from the online store is typically three to four weeks, thanks to initial demand for the new iPhone 5 being high. With 3rd party retailers this could be even longer. A local Verizon store said that they are not shipping the 64GB version until 18th October.

If you want to get your hands on the new iPhone 5 without having to queue, order your handset at any time between 10pm and 4am.
