iPhone 5: Screw iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak, Backdoor Found By Two Services

By  |

Despite being on the market for a good few months, the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 untethered jailbreak is yet to be released to the public. As such, iPhone 5 users are unable to install apps outside of the App Store as this is reserved for devices with root access only, hence the need for a jailbreak.

That is of course what we thought all these years. Now two new services have popped up which are apparently backdoors to Apple’s DRM and allow you to install pirate apps without the need for an iOS 6 untethered jailbreak.

The two services are called Zeusmos and Kuaiyong and both are compatible with the iPhone 5 and other iOS 5 compatible devices. The first one is free while the latter comes at a small price.

We do have to warn you though that while this won’t void your warranty given that you haven’t jailbroken your iPhone 5, it does have moral issues. Both Zeusmos and Kuaiyong have pirated apps among other legitimate ones as well. So it is a lot like the recently defunct Installous but doesn’t need your iPhone 5 to be jailbroken.
