The folks over at DigitalJournal have pointed to what is apparently an iPhone 5 compatible iOS 6 untethered jailbreak guide. DJ points out that have a tool that will jailbreak, along with unlock, the Apple iPhone 5, 4S, 4 and 3GS, along with the iPad 2, running up to iOS 6.1.

When the jailbreak has been completed the device will have Cydia installed. This is the app that is needed on iOS if users want to install apps that are not in the App Store, or who want to customise their handsets. Cydia is the main independent 3rd party digital distribution platform, when it comes to software, for iOS.

DigitalJournal points out that the site was formed in 2008 and has successfully jailbroken more than 250,000 iPhones around the globe to date. However this untethered jailbreak for the Apple iPhone 5, 4, 4S and 3GS comes with a cost. Despite its mentioned money back guarantee of 30 days, lifetime updates and support for life, we’re a little suspicious of it so are not going to recommend it just yet.

The website says that the software is easy to use and they offer a iPhone jailbreak guide with illustrations on how to unlock your device. They say that this takes around 5 minutes.

One user said that he bought an Apple iPhone from the Apple Store and downloaded the software and was up and running in minutes. He went on to say that he thought the software was fantastic and friendly to users and that he would recommend it.

I am going to give it a go and will update this post with my findings. Until then I don’t recommend using the tool. However if you have already, do tell us your experience including which iOS device you have.
