iOS 6.1.1 Update Improves Apple Maps, Kills Evasi0n Jailbreak Too Probably

Apple released iOS6.1 last week to the public and today they have a new OS release for developers by way of iOS 6.1.1 beta and it could kill off the Evasi0n jailbreak.

MuscleNerd said in a Tweet “6.1.1 beta is already out to developers! Obviously stay away from that.” Apple said that iOS 6.1.1 was a pre-release for the Apple iPhone, iPad and the Apple iPod Touch devices. However any device that is updated to this will not be able to go back to an earlier version.

The beta release does bring many new features and this includes map app improvements for Japan. Pronunciation of roads has been improved for turn by turns in navigation. Upcoming toll roads are now indicated, directions have been optimised to prefer highways and freeways have been coloured in green. Labels have been added for junctions, interchanges, off ramps, on ramps and intersections. The icons have also been updated for fire stations, hospitals and post offices, along with important buildings, such as the Japan Imperial Palace and Tokyo Tower. Indicators have also been included for subway lines, traffic lights and station buildings.

If you have used the evasi0n jailbreak they be aware that the update will more than likely kill it off, so be aware of this.
