HTC Vive VR Will Finally Be Free

After all this time, the HTC Vive VR headset will finally be free. Well, free from cords at least as HTC prepares to release the wireless adapter soon.

The one thing that is preventing VR players from experiencing real out of this world experience is probably the cords that keep getting in the way all the time. Well, with HTC’s Vive Wireless Adapter, that will not be an issue anymore.

The adapter from Vive will be released on the 24th of September and is now available for pre-orders. Of course, going wireless is going to cost you because the adapter will be sold for $300. The adapter will work with the Vive and Vive Pro but Pro owners will have to get the compatibility pack to make it fit and that will cost an additional $60.

The new adapter will come with one battery pack that will last about two and a half hours. Buyers will also get two-month free subscription to Viveport. If you are interested, you can pre-order it from Microsoft, Newegg, Vive.
