HTC One X Jelly Bean Update Rolls Out

By  |

Some owners of handsets running Android seem to have to wait forever for updates to come to their device. Some devices were classed as flagship handsets just a short while ago. One of which happens to be the HTC One X, which is now getting the update to Jelly Bean 4.1.1 over in the UK on the Three network. However owners of the handset in the US who have the device on AT&T have to wait.

Jelly Bean started coming out in November of 2012 and O2 customers have been given the update for their device. Three in the UK has said through Twitter that the update to Android 4.1.1 is coming.

The updates are going out OTA and as usual it will be staggered. What this means is that owners should get a notification on their handset soon.

If you do not want to wait until then you can check for the update manually on the Settings of your handset. All you have to do is choose Software updates and Check Now. The whole update is said to be 360MB and you will need a stable Wi-Fi connection and a full battery. You may also wish to back up any data on your handset.

There is a support page with the carrier if you need help with the process of updating your handset. The news follows that of owners being able to get LTE data that is unlimited without having to pay any more money. Three could be enticing people to the network as they recently began offering free headphones to anyone that pre-ordered the Sony Xperia Z.

Over in the US those with AT&T are watching as another carrier in a different country hands out the update, while they don’t have it and this will be once again very frustrating for them.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, iPhone and Android games keep Berke busy at work all day. Honestly though we’re not sure why we’re paying him as it should be the other way around.
