HTC 10: One Feature That Needs To Live On

By  |

We have heard that there isn’t going to be a sequel to the HTC 10 due to the fact that HTC wants to begin a new smartphone line. But there is one feature that fans are hoping will live on in handsets to come our way in the future.

The feature is in fact one of the main reasons why people love the HTC 10 and it is a tool that allows them to get rid of all the bloatware. This means all the unwanted apps that generally arrive with the handset when you buy it.

These are apps that have been preinstalled and which cannot be uninstalled even though the phone comes new out of the box. With the HTC 10 things are different as you can take away the bloatware that you don’t want.

When the HTC U series of devices begin to come our way people are hoping that this is one feature that will live on. Bloatware is a pain as it takes up space on your handset that you could need and it has been known to drain the battery down.

I disagree with the author. The most important feature of the HTC 10 is the audio. Two speakers, both facing forward is preferable. However the earphone audio is the deal breaker. The HTC 10 has the best wired sound of any cell phone when combined with the setup app. It makes $20 earphones sound like they cost $100 and $100 earphones sound like $1000. With those features removed, HTC might as well stop making smartphones. If a company doesn’t have the sense to keep a feature that put them head and shoulders above the competition, their future is doomed.
