Whatever your thoughts about Honda there is no getting away from the fact that the 2017 Honda Civic Type-R is a stunning vehicle that means a lot to the carmaker. It is heading to the US in the spring, before this year it was only offered in Europe and Japan.

The Honda Civic Type-R is going up against the Ford Focus RS and both vehicles have the same price tag but they are so different from each other in many ways. The Focus has gained popularity due to the fact that it can drift and the Type-R stands out for its stunning looks.

Both the Honda Civic Type-R and the Ford Focus RS are five door hatchbacks and both have the turbocharged I4 engines with the six-speed manual gearing and adaptive suspension. The Focus offers the 2.3 litre turbocharged four and this offers up 350 horses and 350 torque.

The Ford Focus RS offers 19 inch Michelin Pilot Super Sport wheels and tires and the Honda Civic Type-R has the 20 inch ContiSportContact 6 wheels and tires. Both vehicles are superb and offer a great deal and the choice between them is going to be difficult.
