2016 Honda Accord or Mazda 6? [Hint: Honda Wins]

By  |

The Honda Accord and Mazda 6 are arguably the most popular sedans on the road in 2016. With that, said both appear to offer a similar package but in different wrapping.

With that said, the 2016 Mazda 6 boasts a 2.5L engine with 184HP and 185lb-ft torque. The Honda Accord on the other hand has a few options but to be fair in this comparison it should be pitted against the 2.4L version which pushes out a slightly less 185HP and 181lb-ft.

So which is the better sedan? The folks over at AutoGuide let its audience speak via a poll which garnered around 700 votes at the time of this article. The verdict? The Honda Accord wins.

But don’t start taking this as the more popular sedan between the duo because the margins were razor thin. The comparison should that 46 percent chose the Mazda 6 while 52 percent went for the Honda Accord. And we are sure that if kept in America’s most popular sedan in the run, the Toyota Camry, it would split just as evenly.

So if you are picking between the Honda Accord and Mazda 6, the answer is you can’t go wrong wit either and you can leave it to personal preference to be the deciding factor.

I would argue that the Honda Accord has more owners thanks to its historically higher sales than the Mazda6. Given this, more Accord owners probably would have responded to your survey.

The results do not mean that the Mazda6 is bad car.
