Microsoft’s Halo 4 Hits App Store For iPhone & iPad, A $4.99 Heist… Literally

By  |

One of the most popular games on the Xbox 360 right now is arguably Halo 4. So it comes as no surprise that buzz around the game is at an all time high. Now some iOS developers have gone ahead and taken advantage of this hype by “releasing” the game in the App Store. There are 2 games over on the App Store right now that are called Halo 4 and both are scams.

Halo 4 app for iPhone & iPad not real

Available for the iPhone & iPad and $4.99, the Halo 4 game looks convincing with a long list of positive reviews from what appear to be Apple users. We see iPhone users discussing the frame rate of the game and different objectives. The game description itself is almost identical to that of the Xbox 360 version.

Of course there is no way Halo 4 can work on the iPhone 5 or iPad 4 for that matter so these are just a way for developers to make $4.99 from naive buyers quickly. Microsoft of course only released Halo 4 last month so this is shockingly quick if it were real. Even the GTA series which hit the iPhone was years after it was available on the PS3 or Xbox 360.

So don’t be fooled by the Halo 4 screenshots for the iPhone & iPad as while that is the real deal, it is showing you a screenshot from the Xbox 360 version. How not one but two Halo 4 fake apps got though Apple’s rigorous approval process is amazing.
