Google Nexus 6P: Complaints Continue To Grow

The Google Nexus 6P continues to sell well and as more users get their hands on the flagship Android, naturally come complaints with certain issues they face.

Over the past few weeks we have seen more complaints than normal arise over in forums with problems faced by Google Nexus 6P users. To highlight some of the most common issues faced, these include the device flipping to landscape mode for no apparent reasons and not being able to go back to portrait without ease.

Another common issue is with 3-way calling where the initiator of the call in not able to send texts if they have another incoming call. This appears to be more of an oversight than a glitch but a simple software update should alleviate it.

However some other call problems that are serious glitches include random locking of the 6P during phone calls and issues with the sensors under the touchscreen display. This has many buyers having to return their device as it is hardware fault that is quite widespread.

    I’ve had the 6p for several weeks and since the 6.0.1 update the battery life has dropped off remarkedly. Even doze seems to be worse as it drops a lot overnight.

    The landscape thing is a real problem… ESPECIALLY when you try to compose panorama shots! I’ve had it a few times, and was wable to rectify it with a bit of luck.

    I’ve also had a once-a-week crash/reboot… only happens when I have sporadic internet while also acting as a hotspot.

    No issues. Great phone, and I am using the Fi program. Love the dramatically lower phone bills. Carriers be gone.

    I got my 6P as soon as it was released and haven’t had a single problem. Love it. I imagine most of those experiencing problems have added lousy apps or tried modifying the phone in some fashion. When I have read complaints that little bit of info tends to slip out.

    I’ve had the phone 2 wks…really no problems so far – not sure I’d recognize em yet IF I did! Except I find accessories are pretty much readily available at Google and Amazon. I tried the Verizon store and got was sold wrong merchandise on several occasions (a charge that didn’t fit; a screen protector that covered up one of my sensors causing the screen to got black when making an outgoing phone call….the Verizon folks have little or no product knowledge on this product…no surprise as it isn’t theirs! However, their managers should discourage sales personnel from selling accessories UNLESS they are truly technically savvy on the product.

    It looks like it has the following issues as well. As of now I’m closely monitoring to decide if I need to return.
    1. Intermittent WiFi disconnection. I’ve noticed this issue multiple times with this phone.
    2. Battery doesn’t seem to be lasting longer as advertised.
    3. NFC feature is not smooth as it was with nexus 4. The location for NFC detection seems to be on the back top but the instruction has not been updated. Bringing phone close to back doesn’t activate NFC.
    4. Camera has various issues. Light adjustment is not good as advertised. Picture quality is also not good enough even though it has ~13MP camera.
    5. Back of the phone surrounding imprint sensor and camera gets heated abnormally. It is noticed when camera is used for some time or during charging or even during extended normal usage.
    6. Incoming call on loud speaker doesn’t hear clear. Some disturbances can be noticed easily.

    Yet to detect other issues if any.

    My Bluetooth will not sync to anything.

    No problems at all. It is, absolutely, the best device I’ve ever owned – tablet, phablet, or phone.

    Had the 6P since launch and I haven’t heard of any of these issues.

    Best phone ever, got 2 of them, one for the wife and one for me, love it so much!
