Google Nexus 5X Has To Take Back Entrance For Android Nougat

The Google Nexus 5X has had to take the back entrance to join the Android Nougat party and owners of the device have welcomed it, even though it isn’t the official update.

The Android Nougat update comes thanks to CyanogenMod and this is the CM14.1 ROM for the Nexus 5X. Bear in mind that this is a nightly build and so there could be some issues with the ROM.

Before you do install the ROM for the Nexus 5X you should make sure that you have 80% battery life on the handset and that you have enabled USB debugging and have TWRP or CWM on the handset.

To start the process of installing the ROM you should connect the handset to the computer and then copy the files to the SD card and then turn off the device and disconnect from the computer.

Go into recovery mode by holding down the power button, volume up and volume down and when you let go you should be able to see the Fastloader or Bootloader. You can use the volume keys to navigate and the power button for choosing. Go to Bootloader and then go into recovery.

Choose backup and make a Nandroid backup and then go back into the main menu and wipe data by choosing wipe data/factory reset. You can wipe cache partition and delvik cache wipe.

Install the ROM from your SDcard by picking it and then confirming and then do the same for GApps and reboot.

You should now have Android 7.1 Nougat installed on your Google Nexus 5X.
