Google isn’t going to support the Nexus 5 any longer and this was evident when Google didn’t put it on the beta list to get Android 7.0 Nougat. So it looks as though the handset has really reached its best before date.

In November the Google Nexus 5 reached its third birthday and Google isn’t giving the handset security updates any longer. This isn’t to say that the handset is going to be dead and buried. As it is a developers handset one of the developers could offer up a custom rom for the device and this could give it a brand new lease of life.

Owners of the Google Nexus 5 are hoping that a developer is going to offer the source code for Android Nougat by way of CM14.1. This will then mean that the handset gets Android 7.0 Nougat, at least unofficially.

But do you have the Google Nexus 5 and are you waiting for Android 7.0 Nougat to arrive on it?
