The Google Nexus 4 is a device that has gone down well with both developers and consumers. Of course people wanted to know if the device was going to be given the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. There is now good news as yes the handset is going to be getting updated it seems.

There are still many owners of the Google Nexus 4 despite the fact that it is now classed as being an older handset. This could be the main reason why developers have come up with the update for the device to take it to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

In fact there are not one but two different ROMs available for the Google Nexus 4. The first comes from Aldrin Holmes and the second is from Dmitry Grinberg. You can install the ROM onto your handset by following the steps below.

1. Start by transferring the TWRP file to the device and update/install it.
2. Turn off the device and switch it on to the Recovery Mode (Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button).
3. Wait for the TWP UI to load up, then choose Wipe > Factory Reset.
4. Next, transfer one of the ROM-GApps into the device and reboot to enter Recovery mode again.
5. Now, you are ready to enjoy the Marshmallow update on your Nexus 4.
If you have followed the steps to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow you should now be holding the Google Nexus 4 with it installed.
