Google Nexus 4 Gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Developers have something of a love and hate relationship with the Google Nexus 4. Meanwhile the handset is getting on in age and this has left owners wondering if they would get updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it is looking as though the news is good.

The Nexus 4 has been well received ever since it arrived on the market and many people haven’t given up on it. Developers have now decided that they are going to offer the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to owners.

Aldrin Holmes has offered one of the ROMs for the Google Nexus 4 and Dmitry Grinberg offered another Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROM. If you want to go ahead and install the update on your device you can follow the steps below.

1. Start by transferring the TWRP file to the device and update/install it.
2. Turn off the device and switch it on to the Recovery Mode (Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button).
3. Wait for the TWP UI to load up, then choose Wipe > Factory Reset.
4. Next, transfer one of the ROM-GApps into the device and reboot to enter Recovery mode again.
5. Now, you are ready to enjoy the Marshmallow update on your Nexus 4.

If all has gone to plan you should now be the proud owner of the Google Nexus 4 running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
