Google Finally Reacts To Nexus 6P Mess

By  |

The Google Nexus 6P got into a bit of a mess as some owners started to complain about strange shutdown issues they were having despite the handset still offering up some battery life. This began to happen following the update to Android 7.0 Nougat.

Huawei didn’t take any action at first and they said that it was the software from Google that was causing the issue. There have been some issues with Nougat and so many people took this to be the truth. Then owners downgraded to Marshmallow and the issue continued, blowing the fault of software out of the water.

Now both Google and Huawei are looking into the issue due to more people having complained about it. When the device shuts down is different with users, however, it is usually about 20% battery life left. It is interesting to note that the same thing happened with the iPhone 6S.

Many reports of the incident have been shown with screenshots showing off the battery status of the device. Generally a big drop is seen in the battery charge and then the Nexus 6P just shuts down.

At the moment neither Google nor Huawei have come up with causes for the issue, but when we hear we will let you know.
