Ford Super Duty Pickup Won’t Keep Things Shut

The Ford Super Duty Pickup trucks are now being investigated by NHTSA after it was reported that some of the power tailgates were opening while the driving.

The vehicles that are being investigated right now includes the 2017 Ford F-250, F-350, and the F-450 Super Duty pickup trucks. According to NHTSA, the investigation started after five customers complain that the tailgate dropped open while the truck is on the road which could be a problem since the cargo can fly out of the truck bed and the tailgate, backup camera, and taillights could be damaged as well.

When the issue was first brought up, Ford said that it was the customers that might have accidentally pushed the tailgate opening button on the key fob but they later release a statement saying that it could be water intrusion that is affected the wire harnesses.

Those affected will be inspectors and get their wire harnesses replaced.
